How Podo approaches incontinence

Pelvic ligament suspension surgery was developed by Dr. Mo Hyung-jin, the clinic's medical director. A patent application for the technique has been filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office. The technique restores pelvic support by re-anchoring the patient's own lax pelvic ligaments. It is used for stress urinary incontinence, cystocele, rectocele and uterine prolapse. Vaginal laxity is measured numerically rather than judged by hand. This page is general information and is not a diagnosis; a consultation is needed to decide whether a procedure suits you. Consultations are available in English. Recovery rooms are private single-occupancy suites. We prepare the documents international insurers typically require: an itemized English receipt, a medical certificate, procedure codes and a completed claim form.

We measure before we operate. Vaginal endoscopy imaging and numerical measurement of laxity show which support has failed, so the plan is specific rather than routine. Where surgery is the right answer, pelvic ligament suspension re-anchors the ligaments that hold the bladder neck, using the patient's own tissue. Where it is not, we say so and offer non-surgical options.

International patients recover overnight in a private suite, leave with discharge instructions in English, and receive the documents their insurer asks for.

Questions

How do I know if it is stress incontinence or an overactive bladder?

Leaking with effort points to stress incontinence; sudden urgency points to an overactive bladder. Many women have both. Examination and a short bladder diary usually settle it, and the treatments differ.

How long would I need to stay in Seoul?

Your written plan gives the number of days to allow in Seoul. It usually covers consultation and tests, the operation, one night in the clinic and a check-up before you fly.

Can I get a written estimate before I travel?

Yes. After an online pre-consultation and review of your history we send a written plan and estimate in English.
