Labiaplasty recovery and flying home
Labiaplasty recovery is mostly about swelling, hygiene and patience. This page sets out what the first day, the first week and the following weeks look like for patients treated at Gangnam Podo Woman Clinic, and when international patients are usually cleared to fly.

What recovery depends on
The clinic performs 4th-generation labiaplasty, a laser-based technique that closes the incision without external sutures. Because there are no external sutures, there is no stitch-removal visit. Results and recovery vary from person to person.
With the 4th-generation technique there are no external stitches to remove, so the follow-up before you travel checks healing and hygiene rather than removing thread. Swelling still happens and settles over weeks; how quickly depends on your tissue, activity and how carefully the instructions are followed.
Recovery and flying home
No overnight stay is usually needed.
Most patients are cleared to fly after None days.
- First 24 hoursRest with legs slightly apart. Cool compresses 10 minutes at a time. Expect swelling and some spotting; pain is usually controlled with the medication provided.
- Days 2–3Swelling peaks. Rinse with water after using the toilet, pat dry, wear loose cotton underwear. Short walks are fine.
- Check-upCheck-up at the clinic; we confirm when you can fly.
- Week 2Swelling reduces noticeably. Desk work and light activity are fine.
- Weeks 4–6No intercourse, cycling, swimming or tight clothing until cleared. Final shape settles over two to three months.
Recovery rooms are private single-occupancy suites. Patients have a 24-hour nurse contact line after surgery. Results and recovery vary from person to person.
